Sliding Scale Fee Structure

Three bottles with decreasing amounts of purple liquid.
The bottle on the left with the most amount of liquid has the overlaying Text "Pay it forward".
The middle bottle with less liquid has the overlaying text "standard" and the bottle on the right with the least amount of liquid has the overlaying text "Concession"
This illustration of three bottles represents how a sliding scale works. The bottles are filled with different levels of purple liquid, representing financial privilege. Each bottle represents a different personal financial experience. This Graphic and the description of sliding scale fee structures are adapted from The Sliding Scale: A Tool of Economic Justice by Alexis J. Cunningfolk

Clients can choose their fees from one of three tiers. I do not require proof of income and trust my clients to be honest and accountable, informing me if their circumstances change. Psychotherapists deserve to be compensated for their work, while clients should receive services that acknowledge the complexities of economic access and financial privilege.
