At Starlight Therapy, my aim is to make therapy as inclusive, accessible, and welcoming as possible.
I recognise that many people face barriers when seeking support especially those of us who are queer, trans, non-binary, neurodivergent, disabled, working class, or living within systems of oppression.
Accessibility isn’t a checkbox it’s an ongoing commitment. I’m always learning, unlearning, and adjusting to meet clients where they are.
My Commitments
- Anti-Oppressive Practice:
My work is guided by a commitment to anti-racism, anti-ableism, and anti-capitalist values. I strive to hold space that honours the complexity of identity and the impact of systemic injustice. - Neurodivergent & Disability Inclusion:
I welcome clients with a wide range of access needs. I invite you to tell me what helps whether that’s cameras off, using chat during sessions, needing breaks, or flexible scheduling. - Gender & Sexual Diversity Affirmation:
I actively affirm and support people of all genders, sexualities, and relationship structures. Pronouns and identities are respected at all times. - Financial Accessibility:
I offer sliding-scale and concessionary spaces for clients with lower income or in financial hardship. - Accessible Communication:
I aim to use clear, plain language, and I’m open to using different modes of communication (e.g. email summaries, text-based check-ins) when helpful.
An Ongoing Process
Accessibility is a continual practice, not a fixed point.
If something about my website, practice, or process makes therapy harder to access, please let me know , your feedback helps me grow and do better.
Everyone deserves a space where they can show up fully, be witnessed, and find care without compromise.
